This will help keep them running normally and will stop any nasty odors from developing. One home cleaning tip is to include running the hot water after each time you use the sink. Hot water will loosen up any clogs and make the pipes run smoothly. You can also use baking soda in the drain and then run some hot water after pouring it in the pipes to get rid of any offending odors. Another great method to clean your pipes is to empty a cup of vinegar down the drain and allow it to set for half an hour. Then turn on the hot water. Vinegar contains naturally occurring acid which helps to loosen up any sludge in your pipes.If you find that your pipes are getting clogged on a regular basis, there are some things you can do to prevent this. In fact this little home cleaning trick works on pipes, sinks and showers. Take a half a cup of baking soda, a half a cup of salt, a half a cup of vinegar and 2 quarts of boiling water. Just before turning in for the night, pour the solution of salt and baking soda down the drain. Then add the vinegar and let it sit for about a minute. Then add the 2 quarts of boiling water. If your sink has a garbage disposal, there is another trick that you can try. Take an ice cube tray and fill it half vinegar and half water. You need to have the water because vinegar by itself will not freeze. Be sure to let everyone in the household know that certain trays have vinegar in them. Once the trays of vinegar ice are frozen, turn on your garbage disposal and add the ice cubes. Vinegar is an acid which is great for cleaning garbage disposal as well as the pipes. If you absolutely cannot stand the smell of vinegar, you can just freeze a regular tray of ice cubes, pour them down your garbage disposal and then add a lemon that is sliced up. You will be surprised that your disposal and your entire kitchen smells amazing.You can try all these great home cleaning tricks to keep your drain clean and to prevent it from clogging. Just remember that there are some things that are not made to go down any pipes or drains.
